What change will this project deliver?
The project aligns, embeds and multiplies the British Embassy efforts regarding #GlobalGoal2 Gender Equality and #GlobalGoal16 Peace-Justice and Strong Institutions – Combating corruption, with the power, structure, free toolkits (s.a. ICT-internet supported MOOC’s – Massive Online Open Courses and fast learning methods for e.g. dactylo – English language – internet based project working in teams), human and financial resources available from the 17#GlobalGoals -, UN Calendar of Observances – and international Khmer Diaspora – community;
directly, the academy-clubs will emancipate the lives of 800 participants – 20 Cambodian trainer teams, 1 Virtual Office assistant providing backup for the worldwide network – all selected from of human rights and democracy organisations and the international community in Cambodia – and 1 Virtual Office assistant from the Khmer Diaspora in Europe, 2 managers from the EU Khmer diaspora organisations – all especially women;
to reach “assertive Khmer women & girls – trouble makers/influencers”, the project makes use of reaching out efforts in the local community networks but also uses the network of the Cambodian Diaspora (mainly in Europa-the UK-USA and the neighboring countries to Cambodia), who have a lot of contacts with Khmer women with similar personalities in Cambodia;
indirectly the 20 communities / villages around the 20 schools where the 20 academy-clubs are based in 5 provinces and the international community in Cambodia will be impacted by the participation of the clubs and the accents they bring – i.e. more emancipated women and men participating, holding positions in the organisation committees – during
the major local Khmer holiday celebrations,
at least 2 cultural events supported by the UN Calendar of Observances and
2 sports events during (a) the April 6 International Day of Sports for Development & Peace and (b) the September – week 3 International Week of Sports for Development & Peace;

Longer term impact: a whole year – every weekend the whole group – 800 participants and especially the 20 person trainer teams – consisting out of especially women;
aligning with the international UN frameworks of the 17#GlobalGoals and the UN Calendar of Observances – both to which the UK’s plan of action aligns and where most of the resources and cameras are pointed towards from 2015 to 2030, making use of ICT Supported real world and Virtual World open platforms, offer the most sustainable and cost-effective way to support the democratisation and emancipation efforts in Cambodian society.
